According to sources, the new software for WhatsApp poses great risk to phones. So, malware can steal user data and hack the device accordingly. For a long time, the popular messenger developers have diligently maintained a safe ecosystem, however it seems that now new loopholes have appeared in it.
Currently, a huge repository of data and personal information that users constantly exchange is at risk: while exchanging messages; the phone owners risk catching a new virus in the form of spyware, which is distributed via WhatsApp, after which the phone is hacked.
In addition, Android-based malware can not only leak through chats but also monitor users revealing confidential information about them. The new ‘virus’ was named Open Development Project; measures are currently being taken to neutralise the threat.
