Washington Reinforces its Unfavourable Opinion on New EU Digital Tax

By in

The Treasury Secretary for the US has issued a stern announcement expressing Washington’s stern objections with other nations’ plans for a “unilaterally and unfair sales tax that targets US-based technology and internet companies”.

He went on to say that the BEPS & OECDs concerns are not unique to innovation or digital organisations; rather those companies with other intangible assets. Mnuchin has called to different nations to look for alternative measures, rather than adopting a unilateral approach, as a few are doing already.
