WeWork, the world’s largest provider of shared work spaces, opened its very first location in Singapore on Thursday the 14th of December. The New York-based company is also said to have plans for at least 2 more co-working spaces in Singapore. The WeWork Beach Centre is also the company’s 200th branch around the world.

The Centre is WeWork’s very first branch in Southeast Asia. According to the branch’s managing director Turochas Fuad, the space is nearly full in terms of occupancy rates as members include multinationals such as HP, as well as local start-ups like restaurant-booking app Chope.

WeWork is expecting rapid growth in Singapore which has been substantially expanding in Asia. Its 2nd co-working space at 71 Robinson is due to open in early 2018 and can accommodate more than 1,000 members. Mr Fuad has stated that a third location spanning 40,000 sq ft across two levels at the redeveloped Funan DigitaLife Mall will be ready in early 2019.
