Swiss Supreme Court Push Back on French Fishing Probe

Switzerland’s Federal Supreme Court has released details of its intention to request for a court order to France requiring the French subsidiary of UBS to release details of bank account owners for just under 50,000 obsolete bank accounts. The accounts in question have been requested due to containing French addresses.

UBS bank is opposed the planned information request, with the St Gallen Federal Court last year advising Switzerland’s tax authorities only to cooperate after more information had been given regarding why they identified the accounts as being undeclared.
