As in all cities, Singapore has moments that cause discontent (weather, government, social backwardness to name but a few); nevertheless Singapore is considered to be the second most secure city in the world according to the Safe City Index.
For the last three consecutive years, Singapore remains among the world’s three safest cities; immediately following Tokyo, which ranks first in the world due to its good performance in digital and health security. In third place comes Osaka, while Toronto and Melbourne take the fourth and fifth places respectively.
The indicator itself is based on such factors such as digital security (protection from cyber threats), healthcare security and personal security (protection from terrorism and other crimes). Singapore, in particular, is occupied with the highest level in the world in terms of personal security.
