The Infocommunications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) are collaborating to launch Singapore’s first ever cybersecurity-focused accelerator programme .
This is in partnership with private sector entities like Singtel’s Innov8 venture capital fund and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
The launch was announced by Yaacob Ibrahim, the Minister for Communications and Information, during his recent ministry’s Committee of Supply debates in Parliament.
According to the recent press release, the initial hub is called the Innovation Cybersecurity Ecosystem at Block 71 (ICE71) and is planning to be located at Innov8 and NUS’ co-working area at 71 Ayer Rajah Crescent.
The start-up hub will aim to aid growth of cybersecurity innovation in the areas of cybersecurity entrepreneurs, accelerators, start-ups and cybersecurity-focused risk capital.
Europe’s cybersecurity accelerator Cylon is joining forces with ICE71 and are planning to offer 3 different programmes; accelerator training programme, pre-accelerator bootcamp and landing pad for start-ups at various phases of ideation and development.
