Following the recession and the islands attempts to bounce back, the land-development and construction sector in Cyprus shows signs of strong growth, generating optimism for the future of the economy. Addressing the annual general assembly of the land-development and construction business association, President Nicos Anastasiades stated that the property market is performing satisfactorily “at all levels”. “Both in sales and number of building permits, we note that property sales have bounced back to pre-crisis levels, with even brighter prospects,” he reaffirmed. The economy has an important social factor, since building projects directly impact employment in the construction sector.
