The head of the Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has stated that the Pafilia Group are waiting to hear whether they have met the required criteria to build a long-anticipated marina in Paphos. A decision is expected before the end of October, according to other sources.
Pafilia was required to present all the mandatory documents that showcase their capability to implement, promote and finance the marina project which will be constructed in Potima in Kissonerga.
Previously, the Poseidon consortium were planning to build and run the proposed Paphos marina, which would cost EUR €215 million, however their proposal was rejected in April. And so, this enabled Pafilia to present their paperwork in order to get the deal. If Pafilia’s bid is successful, they will be chosen to construct the marina.
The Pafilia proposal varies in design and price, as it costs around EUR €175 million, which is considerably less that the Poseidon consortium’s bid. However, if Pafilia fail to meet the various criteria, the entire project will be cancelled.
