Oxford University Refuses Funding from Huawei

As the control increase in Europe over telecom company cooperation with the authorities in Beijing, Oxford University refused to get further funding from Huawei.

In December 2018, Huawei was sharply criticised because of the arrests of a top manager in Canada and a staff member in Poland. In addition, representatives of Oxford University recently announced that they would not pursue new funding opportunities from Huawei and related group companies but cooperation on existing projects will continue.

In this regard, the company’s founder Ren Zhengfei gave a rare media interview, in which he denied his company’s accusations of espionage in favour of China.
