Lobbyists Dismiss OECD Criticisms of EU Golden Visa Schemes

By in

The Investment Migration Council have printed a comprehensive refutation of the OECD’s recent criticism over golden visa and citizenship-by-investment schemes. It notes that tax is not an issue for most users of such programmes, as most candidates do not wish to amend their tax residence or they relocate fully to the new destination and then become tax residents there.

Anyhow, it states that citizenships granted by EU Member States account for a large part of the global movement of individuals for tax purposes, without any use of investment-based arrangements, and can be similarly used or mistreated for evading tax-reporting responsibilities.
