Italy Demands Information Swiss UBS Clients

By in

Italy’s tax agency has asked the Swiss Federal Tax Administration to gather and deliver information regarding the bank accounts of all UBS’ Italian clients between the months of February 2015 and December 2016.

The administrative assistance request was made last year in December, however the Swiss authorities have only now published details about the case, giving people a chance to challenge it.

UBS has already agreed to pay Italy EUR €101 million to settle a previous tax prosecution case, however the Italian authorities now hope that a recent decision of the Swiss Supreme Court will overturn current events and allow it to classify only the clients concerned with the specific case.
