Imprisonment extended for man guilty of committing fraud in Russia

The remand of a Russian man in Cyprus wanted by the Russian authorities for charges relating to fraud, conspiracy, theft and money-laundering in 2010 has been extended this week, which has been ordered by the Paphos district court last week.

The man, who was arrested in Paphos will remain in custody of the Cyprus authorities until September 12th pending a review of the extradition request submitted by the Russian government.

In a number of court hearings dating back 7 years, the man was found guilty of defrauding 24 hopeful property buyers out of almost USD $200,000, by falsely promising to build luxury apartments.
