HKThe Index of Economic Freedom for 2014, published annually by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal announced on Tuesday that Hong Kong has retained its title as the world’s most free economy for the 20th year. Close rival Singapore has this year managed to close the gap showing that the region in general is a good place for business. Some concerns have been raised in regards to Hong Kong and their government policies and the perceived level of corruption, however according to the Heritage Foundation Hong Kong scored slightly better than last year due to improvements in regulatory efficiency which may have offset the concerns with corruption.
