German car manufacturers being investigated over claims of collusion & market manipulation

By in

European Union and German antitrust regulators are investigating whether German carmakers VW, Audi, BMW and Porsche have been found guilty of collusion, amid claims they held meetings to discuss prices, standards and suppliers in order to disadvantage other foreign carmakers.

If the claims are found to be true, the European Union Competition Commissioner has warned that the car manufacturers could face extremely high fines, however the possibility and extent of any trading sanctions has yet to be discussed.
