The Government of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) have announced important legislation that will transform the structure of company law for onshore businesses in Arabic nations.

Going forward, foreign investors will be allowed to become Sole Proprietors of companies for some local corporate sectors. Up until the approval, there was a 49% control limit for foreign owners in UAE companies; which only ruled out firms incorporated in a small, specific free trade area.
