Facebook taps the social media business sector with new Whatsapp venture

After buying WhatsApp, the messaging service used by more than a billion people every day, Facebook is looking to expand to new fields in order to increase revenue by expanding the app. The Facebook team have started building and testing features via a business related app aimed at SMEs and banks.

Founded in 2009, WhatsApp was recently acquired by Facebook for a staggering USD $20 billion back in 2014. At that time, WhatsApp had little revenue, however the purchase price was marginally over the market value of Sony Corp.
