In May, Facebook’s chief operating officer Cheryl Sandberg supposed that attempts to break up major US technology companies were not at all aimed at solving problems that had arisen in the economic sector but were driven by other motives.
“You can break us up, you can do it in relation to other technology companies but in fact, you don’t solve the main problems that concern people,” Sandberg said in an interview. She also noted that such actions will only help competitors from China.
Also, Cheryl Sandberg said the Facebook team work hard to improve security (after identifying a number of errors including data leakage in 2016). Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted that ‘in order for people to trust the Internet it is necessary to develop and implement a fair regulatory framework that will apply to Internet platforms and technology companies.’
