EU will offer rights to UK citizens living within Europe during Brexit-negotiations

The European Union will offer to protect the welfare and human rights of UK citizens who currently live in other EU countries, such as Cyprus after the Brexit deals come into force. The UK will hold talks with the EU next month to start negotiations on important matters such as trade, freedom of movement and residency matters. EU officials wrote the initial goals on a draft paper for negotiators: “The Withdrawal Agreement should protect the rights of EU citizens, UK nationals and their family who, at the date of entry into force of the Withdrawal Agreement, have enjoyed rights relating to free movement under Union law.”
