EU plans for a common blacklist of Tax Havens

By in

Taking measures to fight tax evasion and avoidance, and to promote a fairer taxation, an EU list of jurisdictions which are not in conformity with EU standards on taxation good governance (Tax Havens) is to be created before the end of the current year (2017).

Such “Blacklisting” will aim to reduce the appeal of tax havens, however, discussions have not been concluded on whether blacklisted non-cooperative countries, accused of drawing away tax revenues from EU states, should be subject to sanctions.
