The Cyprus government has recently introduced the list of “safe countries”, the citizens of which can’t make the application for asylum in the Republic of Cyprus. The Cyprus authorities have started to implement the policy and recently has deported a large number of citizens of Georgia.

The list of countries that are considered to be free from abuse of human rights in Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Ghana, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Philippines, Nepal, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Gambia, Egypt, and Nigeria.

Cyprus is a small island with a high percentage of foreigners. A large portion of them is Russians and British who consider Cyprus as a good place to live and to do business from.
