China’s Call to the EU to Stand Against US Protectionism

By in

After US President Donald Trumps statement that he will impose extra tariffs of USD $100 billion on China’s imports, China called upon the EU to act together and stand up against US protectionism.

Mr Zhang (the head of the Chinese mission to the EU) blamed the US for not being in compliance with the global economic and trade rules, which in turn could threaten the creditability of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Mr Daniel Rosario, a Spokesperson for the European Commission stressed that the WTO should take preventive measures and establish a framework to deal with trade differences.
