Are rapidly growing companies such as Uber using ethical practices?

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) for the UK released that between April and June this year, almost 1 million people were on zero hour contracts that do not guarantee any work or stability from one month to the next. A government investigation looking at UK employment practices said too many companies & managers were relying on zero, short or agency based contracts that are unpredictable, often leaving some not working one 8 hours. Of course the employment levels are rising according to figures, but how far the statistics are accurately portraying a working population is another question. App and alternative taxi company Uber has come under fire as being one of the companies promoting such practices.
