Airbnb popularity increases as hotels in Cyprus introduce summer rates

By in

Airbnb has been a popular and upcoming alternative to hotels among travelers for the last decade, however has been relatively slow to take off in Cyprus. Airbnb is an app whereby home owners provide short-term subletting’s to travelers for much cheaper rates typically than hotels and even hostels. This concept has recently become popular on the island, not only in tourist areas at the beach, but even in Nicosia, which in 2010 had no listed properties. So far this year, over 200 Nicosia listings are registered on the website. Over half of the listed properties are privately owned apartments or houses and half-board private rooms all over the island, with prices starting from €9 per night.
