14% of Peugeot Citroen is sold to a Chinese Car ManufacturerA Chinese car manufacturer, Dongfeng, has bought 14% of shares in Peugeot Citroen. Another 14% was sold to the French government. The Peugeot family will retain only 14% of shares after the deal. Small urban saloon cars are very popular in China. The deal will help to make it easier to build Peugeot Citroen cars in China. Chinese firms are full of cash and trying to diversify to other market not only to have a presence there but also to benefit from technology transfer.
