The World Gold Council released the latest figures for the countries with the largest gold reserves as of August 2017. The leading global holders of gold are of course central banks, international organisations & governments. The US boasts the largest gold reserves globally whilst Germany and China hold the biggest gold reserves in Europe and Asia respectively. The IMF is the third largest holder of gold with 2,814 tonnes. The following bodies also made the top 10:
