US Has Taken Action on the Much-Awaited Amendments to the Agreement

By in

The US Senate officially ratified the long-awaited amendments to several important tax treaties, in particular, the DTA agreement 2013 with Spain.

In accordance with this agreement, there is a general exemption from withholding tax on cross-border interest, royalties and many dividends, as well as for all capital gains except property company disposals. The ratification of this treaty, as well as other agreements with Japan, Luxembourg and Switzerland was postponed for a long time due to the objections of Senator Rand Paul on the exchange of information.
