UK May be Subject to EU Tax Code After Brexit

By in

Recently, UK tabloids have been speculating about the UKs post-Brexit tax deal. They claim to have evidence that the EU will subject the UK to the current European Union Code of Conduct for Business Taxation regulations following the nation’s departure from the EU in March 2019.

The motive behind it seems to be a competitive one; as EU Member States want to deter the UK and its overseas territories from lowering corporation rates of taxation, thereby becoming even more of an attraction. Although many EU Member States have quite low rates already, most are not seen as being the top 5 financial hubs in the world.
