UK Government Confirm that Company Directors no Longer Have to Register Their Home Addresses

By in

As per new regulations in the UK associated with privacy and the protection of data, starting from June 2018, UK Company Directors will no longer be required to list their personal addresses on the UK Companies House registers, and can remove any information associated with their personal residence.

Officials stated that the utmost care is being taken to protect the safety of those listed, as previously any removal would have to be accompanied with proof of threats posing serious risks of violence or intimidation.

The UK Companies (Disclosure of Address) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 is the new regulation that aims to protect Directors from imposture fraud, as well as retaining the UKs reputation as a favourable and competitive business environment, and a good jurisdiction to start a business not only within Europe, but also worldwide.
