Turkey Conducts Arms Deal with Russia Despite Warnings From US

Last month, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made an announcement regarding an arms trade between Turkey and Russia; which will reportedly go ahead in spite of world condemnation. The S-500 Prometey (Russian: C-500 Прометей) defense systems after Ankara’s much debated purchase of the S-400 missile from Moscow.

Turkey’s incentive for the arms trade has further irritated an already tense relationship with the US, who has repeatedly cautioned Ankara of the dangers of the weapons; including sanctions as a result of the trade.
