Singapore: Number of Job Vacancies to Increase in 2019

According to the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore (MOM), the total vacancy rate for specialists, managers, executives and technicians rose from 48.5% in 2017 to 53% in 2018. The largest number of vacancies appeared in the sphere of professional, financial and insurance services as well as information and communications (ICT).

42% of 63,300 vacancies in 2018 were related to the formation and expansion of business. Also, in 2018 the majority of vacancies in the labour market of Singapore are from the community, social and personal services, manufacturing and ICT spheres.

Over the past five years, the role of ICT industry had significant growth and as a consequence, a big amount of positions like head of information department, database designer and administrator, information security specialist is observed.
