Singapore & US Agree on Mutual Information Exchange Under FATCA

Authorities in Singapore have reassured all companies and financial institutions operating in the city-state that their reporting obligations will remain unchanged as talks with the US are underway to reform their existing agreement. Going forward, the meetings aim is to implement FATCA (the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) and agree on a mutual contract requiring the US to also give bank account information to Singapore reciprocally.
