Singapore & Brazil Sign Double Taxation Treaty

Thursday the 8th of May, 2018 is the day that Singapore and Brazil signed the bilateral Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) but also started discussions on a free trade agreement between Singapore and Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay (see MERCOSUR).

The oil, gas, infrastructure, real estate, agriculture and transport are all active industries in which Singaporean companies participate and are being competitive in Brazil. Indeed, being Singapore’s largest source of frozen chicken, pork and beef, Brazil has reached USD $1.7 billion in 2016, bilateral trade in services with Singapore.
