Plastic money transactions and overseas spending up for Cyprus cardholders

A group of the major banks operating in Cyprus released an emailed statement regarding the increasing overall value of transactions in the first 2 quarters of this year to over €1B, with the value of plastic money transactions also significantly rising by 21% in May compared to the same month in 2016. The value of cash withdrawals and purchases by Cypriot cards holders abroad also rose last month by 16% to just under €130m, according to statistics from JCC Payment Systems Ltd.
