Oil company 'Tatneft' ran a petrol station in Crimea

One of Russia’s largest oil companies Tatneft is currently doing business in Crimea, despite the risks of falling into the black list of US sanctioned jurisdictions. This information became known from the documents of the Tatneft company.

Most large Russian oil companies withdrew business from Crimea after Washington imposed sanctions on Moscow’s annexation from the region of Ukraine in 2014 and threatened to include any company operating on the peninsula in the list of authorised organisations.

However, according to the records in the state register of tax and state statistical services that were collected on the Russian base, a company called KONZ, which operated at gas stations within Crimea and Sevastopol, at least until September under the control of Tatneft.
