The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has shown its support for the adoption of legislation by the EU regarding its action plan to help combat corporate tax avoidance.
The OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría made a statement congratulating the EC for their work: “Initiatives like the EC’s action plan will help adopt a synchronised application of the measures developed as discussed during the course of the OECD/G20 BEPS project. A globalised economy should be working from a single global set of standards. The political incentive and support for establishing a fairer international tax system is overwhelming, we must use this support to reach our objectives regarding the exchange of information and jurisdiction transparency.’
The OECD will continue to work with the EC on the implementation of anti- Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) measures, therefore ensuring a fairer and more equitable tax system for individuals and businesses alike.
