Nokia & Vodafone Set to Create 4G Network on the Moon

A mobile operator Vodafone together with Nokia are planning to create the first 4G network on the Moon by 2019.

Nokia has said that the weight of the equipment will not exceed more than 1 kilogram and will be the lightest of all ever created. It will be delivered to the surface of the Moon by means of the US company SpaceX Falcon 9 booster rocket, which will be launched from the cosmodrome in the state of Florida.

The creation of such a network on the surface of our planet’s satellite is necessary to broadcast video images and other data from the Moon to the Earth, as well as to provide communication between two Audi rovers that will visit the landing site of Apollo 17, the last of the Apollo series to visit the Moon in 1972.
