08.11Legislation which comes into effect next August, requires all multinational corporations (MNCs) to advertise openings on a government jobs bank before hiring skilled foreigners. However Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin suggests Singapore must adhere to international agreements and allow multinational corporations (MNCs) to transfer foreign staff. Some are worried that multinational corporations (MNCs) will exploit ‘loopholes’ by bringing in foreigners as ‘transfer staff’.
