According to the report of the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore, in 2018, workers’ wages increased and the average income exceeded SGD $ 4,400.

The ministry also stated that the employment rate among Singaporeans and permanent residents in 2018 was 80.3% for people aged 25 to 64, which is slightly lower than in 2017 (80.7%). It also should be noted that over the past four years, the level of participation in the labour sector for people aged 15 years and older has stabilised.

All the efforts by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower to increase the employability of workers have led to an increase in the number of foreign citizens with permanent residence permits and immigrants.
