Moldovan national arrested for attempting to bribe Singapore police for early release

A Moldovan national was arrested in Singapore last week for trying to bribe Police Officers and has been sentenced to one month in prison. The offender offered ‘money and gifts’ to the police officers after being arrested for alleged vice activity, and was trying to be granted an early release. Anyone who is convicted of a corruption offence can be sentenced to imprisonment of up to five years; receive a fine of up to SGD $100,000 or both.
