WTO: US & EU at Odds Again Over Airbus Subsidies

The European Union and the United States have different assessments of the decisions made by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) of the lawsuit to subsidise the planemaker corporation Airbus.

The United States won a partial victory on May 15th against EU support for Airbus at the WTO, clearing the way for possible U.S. sanctions in a dispute over claims of illegal handouts for aircraft makers. The United States have lodged a complaint against the illegal subsidisation of Airbus by the EU and its four member states.

The case "US v. EU" became the largest commercial dispute in the history of the WTO.
