Tax Authorities From 5 Countries Join Together to Combat Online Tax Crime

Last week, the first meeting of the self-coined “J5 Group” took place, which stands for Joint Chiefs of Global Tax Enforcement and is currently made up of the UK, the Netherlands, the US, Australia and Canada.

The jurisdictions tax authorities are behind the committee which was created with the aim of improving online enforcement of tax on an international level and other money laundering crimes. The group are in the process of developing plans to detect cyber criminals and enablers of offshore tax crime.
