President Putin’s Partner Announcement Ruins Shells Involvement in LNG Project

Dutch petrol giant Shell have pulled out of a scheme to build a natural gas plantation in Russia which according to sources was a move to distance themselves from Russian Gazprom, who have recently added another partner that has been linked to President Vladimir Putin.

After Shell reportedly spent three years mining the Baltic Coast, the conglomerate discovered that Gazprom was cooperating with a partner on a US sanctions blacklist. The sudden announcement of the partnership was a contributing factor to Shell's decision to pull out of the project.
