Liberalist party En Marche wins majority in French parliament

Earlier this week, France's Interior Ministry announced that President Emmanuel Macron's liberal party found a key victory after Sunday's second round of parliamentary elections, beating far right opponent Le Pen. With 97% of the votes counted, Macron's La Republique En Marche party had won 301 seats. The Mouvement Démocrate, (or MoDem) who is the party’s political allegiance also won a further 40 seats. Macron's party was only founded one year ago, and won the first round of elections on June 11th with poor turn out; less than half of the eligible voting population in France headed to the polls to have their say.
