Hong Kong government to introduce 15% tax on real estate transactions

The Hong Kong government has taken an unexpected step, introducing 15% tax for transactions with local real estate. The only exception was made for Hong Kong residents that are purchasing their first property.

Non-nationals are now going to pay 30% tax.

Hong Kong property market instantly reacted to it, experiencing a70% plunge in a number of deals.
