Google vows to reduce online extremist content on YouTube

Google has announced plans to implement stricter measures to identify and remove terrorist or violent extremist content on YouTube, the most popular video sharing platform online. Google said it would adopt a stricter approach to videos containing inflammatory religious content by not monetising or endorsing them for brand adverts, even if they do not clearly go against the current policies. The company will also hire more engineering resources and increase its use of technology to help identify and remove provocative content more rapidly.
