GDPR: Consumers Consent to the Illegal Use of Personal Data
According to the General Regulations for the Protection of Personal Data (GDPR) in their privacy policies, companies are required to use simple and understandable language. However most users do not read such notifications.
According to Associate Professor at Victoria University Samuel Becher, people use cheap or free services and goods in exchange for personal information. Often people make purchases unintentionally paying for their goods with personal data and loss of confidentiality.
As a result, companies have a huge amount of information about consumers. At the same time, consumers allegedly agree with this practice. However, various studies show that privacy agreements are often incomprehensible to users.
