EU is likely to vote against negotiations on Turkey’s membership

This week, European parliamentarians are going to discuss possible suspension of negotiations with Turkey on joining the EU. There have been more than enough disputes between the parties.

Since 1987, when Turkey first applied for membership, the country has been trying in vain to join the European Union, having approved only one of 35 applicant regulations.

As the Turkish Prime-Minister said, they were considering alternative options and planned to join The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, where China and Russia are involved.

This scenario means a loss for Europe in political terms due to the pressing issue regarding Syrian refugees and agreement on their repatriation, which is most likely to fall apart, causing millions of refugees to flood European boarders.
