Mauritius Government Generous with Licensing Exemption to Resident Entities

As per the 2018 Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, enacted last year, all Mauritius entities established during or after 2019 are exempt from the new adhering to the new global business licensing regime. The rules are being introduced because of the Mauritius Finance act and are in favour of resident companies.

The following Mauritius entities will be affected:

Resident Trusts.
Resident Foundations.
Resident companies.
From June 2021, the 2nd category Global Business Regime will be abolished due to possibly putting non-citizens who used Mauritius to carry out their offshore activities through a local company at a disadvantage.
