Malaysian Bankers Charged with Involvement in 1MDB Scandal

Two former employees of Big Four Firm Goldman Sachs have been charged by the US Department of Justice for being accomplices to the Malaysian 1MBD fraud scandal. The accused are both Malaysian nationals; one used to be Director of the bank, and is currently under arrest in Malaysia; being charged with paying bribes to officials in Abu Dhabi and Malaysia.

Also accused is an Accountant Jho Low, who fled his home to avoid further prosecution for reportedly laundering billions of misappropriated funds via a bond issue. Former Malaysian Prime Minister Nagib Razak has also been sentenced with corruption charges.
