Ireland has requested a special provision in the Brexit talks to allow Northern Ireland to rejoin the EU in the event that it will reunite with the Republic. Irish Leader and Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny, requested that the deal between the EU and the UK should include provisions that would allow the north to easily return to the jurisdiction.

The Irish Politician stated the requirements that allowed East Germany to join West Germany and the EU in a seamless manner after the fall of the Berlin wall offered a suitable precedent for Ireland.
